We will take advantage of the manmade snow on 6 km of trails at Hyland. Even though most of the Twin Cities looks bare, brown, and dreary, there has been plenty of snow for good skiing at Hyland since late December!
As of 2/8, reports on on Skinnyski.com said ski conditions were still good at Hyland on the snowmaking trails.
Meet in the visitor center. You can recognize me by my bright green coat.
I will plan to use my classic skis, but if anyone wants to skate ski, that’s fine, too.
There’s no fee for the event, but you will need a Three Rivers Ski Pass, either annual or day. They can be purchased online or in the visitor center.
Also bring your ice skates if you are interested in skating on Bush Lake after the ski outing. I skated there twice last week and it was very good. Plenty of ice thickness to be safe, and it’s just a 5-minute drive from Hyland.
