Summer may be over, but hiking season is still here! Join us as we hike the hills and woodland trails of Battle Creek Park West. Meet at the Battle Creek Recreation Center parking lot at 6:00 p.m., we’ll begin our hike at 6:10.
This is a gem of an urban park with a mix of prairie grass trails, wood chips on the hills and vistas of the Mississippi river & downtown St. Paul. We’ll hike for an hour – 1.5 hours, so bring a headlamp as the latter part of the hike will be just after sunset & we’ll be hiking the hills in the woods. Dogs on a leash OK. Bring water. This is a great hill-hike work out! Rovers membership not required for this hike.
Directions: From Hwy 61 take Lower Afton Rd to the east. Turn left onto Winthrop Street (the third left after turning onto Lower Afton Road. Go up the hill & turn left into the parking lot. Meet on the left side of the parking lot, next to the park & the sign with trails of the park.
