Adventure abounds at Lake Vermilion-Soudan Underground Mine State Park! Tour the historic underground mine, paddle on Lake Vermilion, bicycle on the Mesabi Trail, or hike through acres of old growth pine forest. The addition of nearly 3,000 acres and five miles of Lake Vermilion shoreline in 2010 adds even more opportunities to experience the wonders of northern Minnesota. Just half an hour on down the road is Ely, MN, home to the International Wolf Center, Bear Center, and the ever-favorite shops of Wintergreen and Piragis.
We will camp at the Mooz walk-in group site at the new Lake Vermillion campground where we have a screened-in porch, picnic tables, and a fire ring. Food is on your own, with a pot-luck dinner on Sunday evening. Firewood provided, and a camp stove for general use.
