Join me in experiencing the most beautiful area of the Twin Cities, in my opinion, hiking into Lock and Dam #1 area and going up to the Observation deck. Here we may see bald eagles, peregrine falcons and learn the history of the dam. From there we will walk under the Ford bridge to Wabun park, and then follow the creek as it feeds into the Mississippi River. From there we will follow the creek to Minnehaha Falls and take the 106 steps up to either continue our hike along the creek to Lake Nokomis. and back where we will enjoy the area and take in some treats at Sea Salt.
Parking options:
In Lock and Dam #1 parking lot just off West River Road or Wabun park parking lot, off of Godfrey Road and Minnehaha Parkway. Or in the surrounding neighborhoods.
Be prepared for wet or muddy footing on the lower trails.
