Public art. Water features. 2,000 trees and shrubs. 10,000 perennials. Join me in a one-hour hike around Centennial Lakes and on the Edina Promenade. It’s an urban hike, but one that will please the eye with art and summer flowers. We will leave at 7:05 p.m. from the 16-foot clock in front of the Hughes Pavilion (“Centrum Building” on the map link below) at Centennial Lakes Park. We’ll hike for about an hour.
Then stay for an outdoor showing of “Coco” at the Amphitheater that starts at 8:28 p.m. (“Coco” won Academy Awards for best animated film and best original score this year. Beautiful animation and music.) Come for the hike and/or the movie. (There is also a Farmer’s Market from 3:00-7:00 at Centennial Lakes, if you want to shop before the hike.)
Try to park in the parking lot near “Central Park” and the Centrum Building (Hughes Pavilion) on this map. That will allow you to get your chair after the hike for the movie or to take your Farmer’s Market purchases back to your car. Centennial Lakes Park is located at 7499 France Avenue South, Edina, MN 55424. Hike and movie are free. Popcorn and soda available for purchase at Amphitheater.
