BWCAW Paddle/Camping trip — Lake One, MN

Category: Camping, Paddling

Wed - SunAug 21 - Aug 252019
  • Estimated Cost: $16
  • Max Trip Size: 6 people
Description:

Looking for 4 additional Rover members with previous Boundary Waters camping and portaging experience. We secured a Lake 1 entry permit for Wed Aug 21st and plan to return Sunday afternoon Aug 25th. THIS IS A BRING YOUR OWN EVERYTHING ADVENTURE. Please find your own transportation, your own food, camping equipment, gear bags, watercraft, PFD, paddles etc. Please remember that cans and glass are not permitted in the BWCA. Bring whatever you like to pack in your watercraft. You will need to be able to carry your watercraft and supplies over the portages. Please check with the gear locker if you need to borrow (and transport) anything from gear to canoes. You will need a Rover partner if you are in a tandem canoe. Let me know if you need a partner and I will connect you if others also need a partner. For community use we will bring a water purifier, 2 jet boils, copies of the maps and some first aid supplies. Rovers website has gear lists which might be helpful to review. We will meet at a designated point in Ely at 10:30 am Aug 21st to pay $16 and get the official permit with participant names. The goal is to travel Lake 1,2,3,4 and beyond as the group determines. It will be fun to share this adventure with other Rovers. Text or email Marilyn with registration or questions. Last day to sign up will be Sunday August 18th.
