Border Route Trail area maintenance — Cook County off Arrowhead Trail road/Otter Lake, MN

Description:

Fall maintenance trip on the North Country National Scenic Trail, Border Route Trail East end from McFarland lake to the Swamp River.  Joint trip with the Border Route Trails Association a 501C3 non profit.  Your trip expenses are tax deductible

Car camping at Otter Lake trail head and day hiking to cover about 12 miles of trail over the weekend.  Start either Friday or Saturday morning.

We will use hand tools, brush cutters and chainsaws to clear dead falls and brush along the trail.  this is an excellent time to explore and hike this wilderness trail built by MN Rovers.   BRTA will furnish safety equipment and tools and training.  No experience required but must be able to hike 6 to 8 miles per day in back country conditions.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Membership is required on overnight trips (except for Extravaganza and Border Route Trail work trips).

It is the responsibility of both the trip coordinators and the participants to discover and share information related to each others’ experience and capabilities regarding trip-related activities and responsibilities.

It is also club policy that waiver forms be signed by all people participating in Rover events.
