  • Estimated Cost: $10
  • Max Trip Size: 8 people
Description:

Howdy,

I’m looking for a few souls to share in an adventure with this weekend. I’ll be heading up to the North Shore this Saturday for an overnight backpacking trip on the Superior Hiking Trail. I plan to start in Silver Bay and hike about 6 miles to the campsite, passing by scenic Bean and Bear lake. I can take 3 more in my SUV (4 if we squeeze a bit), and if any more than that want to join we will need another driver.

Previous backpacking experience recommended but not required. You will need your own food and gear, or you can borrow gear from the Rovers (although it may be a bit too much of a short notice to do that). It looks like a low of 40 this weekend, so you’ll want to dress in warm layers, and bring a cold weather sleeping bag or a proper liner. The hike is intermediate to difficult but we will only be doing 6 miles, so this may be a good introduction to backpacking if you are just looking to get started. The 10$ per person cost is just for gas.

We’ll meet at 8am on Saturday at Perkins just outside of the city: Perkins Restaurant & Bakery, 6920 Wayzata Blvd, Golden Valley, MN 55426

Please contact me if you have any questions.
