Camp in Stockade Lake Group Site. Pay only for nights you stay. Nine days, 8 nights.
CLIMBERS: Climbers must have a predetermined climbing partner, use our collaboration site to make arrangements. Area offers trad & sport climbing at all levels of ability. If you climb inside and want to experience the outdoors, this is the perfect trip for you. If you need pro, we have plenty, contact Lori to reserve a Rovers helmet or other climbing gear.
Devils Tower and Spearfish Canyon are less than 2 hours away for those who want to ‘side-trip’ to climb for a few days.
NON-CLIMBERS are invited as well given the area’s abundance of attractions including: Badlands National Park, Mount Rushmore, Mammoth Dig, Crazy Horse Monument, hiking (Black Elk’s Peak, Little Devils Tower, and much more), biking (109 mile Mickelson Trail), swimming beach, and hot springs (not to mention the uniquely beautiful landscape of the Black Hills). Climbers take break days to do many of the other activities, as well.
The groupsite is beautifully situated overlooking Stockade Lake. Tenting is dispersed throughout the woods and along the cliff/shore, plenty of room. A large pavilion with electricity for cooking and gathering. Potable water spigot, two pit toilets, a short walk to south campground where we have rights to flush toilets and showers.
If interested in more detailed information contact Lori and ask to be added to the trip collaboration site. This used to be an annual trip and was very popular, a deposit guarantees your spot! (Example of cost – $6.56 per night if we have 20 ppl stay all week.)
All meals on own, unless we go plan a group meal – grocery stores, restaurants a few miles away.
