Bring a child you want to introduce to the outdoors! Parents/grandparents/aunts/uncles/mentors are all welcome.
The kids will make their own pumpkin boats out of mini-pumpkins at Schulze Beach in Lebanon Hills Park. I will bring mini-pumpkins, knives (for the adults), and carving tools. Also wooden skewers, paper, and markers to make and decorate sails.
I’ll bring a kayak to fetch any boats that stay on top of the water. And if your boat ends up at the bottom . . . fish apparently eat pumpkin. Yes, I researched that.
To be clear, if you attend you are expected to stay and participate in the activity with the child you bring. 🙂 Please RSVP so I know how many mini-pumpkins I should bring. Changes in plans because of weather will be sent out to anyone who RSVPs.
We will meet at Schulze Lake Beach at Lebanon Hills Regional Park. There is ample parking available close to the beach. Bathrooms are available at the bathhouse or at Lebanon Hills Visitor Center.
