Join me for an end-of-year winter hike at one of my most favorite parks, Afton State Park. I’ll lead a 6-8 mile hike with plenty of hills and views.
Bring traction and hiking poles as the ravines do tend to get icy. Unless there’s a heavy snow, snowshoes are not necessary. You might want to bring a headlamp in case we’re out past sunset.
We’ll meet at the Visitor Center inside the park and near the trailhead. You’ll need a MN State Parks annual pass or $7 one day pass.
You do not need to be a member to come on day trips! But if you are not a current member, please be sure to submit the trip waiver at the bottom of this posting.
Let’s make this end-of-year hike fun by sharing a hope for the new year and a regret to let go of from the past year. Prizes for the regrets that make us laugh the hardest!
Do let me know if you are coming so we can be on the lookout. Hike starts at 1:00 sharp so we’re not out past dark.
