What is the Rovers e-group?
The e-group gives Rovers members a way to connect — by e-mail, on the groups.io website, or through the app. Use it for club-related communication that supports trip coordination, outdoor activities, and community connection.
Use the e-group for:
- Trip announcements & updates
Promote a submitted Rovers trip or announce changes - Co-coordinator requests
If you want help planning a trip, invite a co-coordinator. Once plans are in place, submit the trip through the website so all members have access to the trip. - Trip reports
Share your experiences and highlights from Rovers activities. - Generate interest in outdoor activities
Share inspiration, ask questions, or start conversations about outdoor skills, gear, destinations, or activities. (This is not intended for organizing private trips in place of submitting an official Rovers trip.)
Subscription to the e-group is available to Minnesota Rovers club members only. Only current club members will be able to post messages and receive messages via email.
Guidelines
- Submit Trips to the website BEFORE gathering participants using the e-group.
- Keep posts club-related and non-commercial.
No advertising, fundraising, political advocacy, or posts for personal financial gain. - Include a hashtag at the end of your subject line.
Hashtags make it easier to scan, sort, or mute topics.
Examples:
1) Trip Report - Hiking at Afton #trip-report;
2) Advice on Bear Canisters #gear - Be respectful and constructive.
Messages reflect the opinion of the sender, not the club. - Sign your name.
The “From” line isn’t always obvious to readers, so please include your name at the end of your message. - Protect members’ personal information.
Do not publicly share another member’s phone number, e-mail, or other contact details. - Use “Reply All” sparingly.
Before replying, ask yourself, “Does everyone need this message, or just the sender?” - Misuse may result in removal from the e-group.
The club may limit or revoke access if needed to keep the group respectful and on-topic.
