  • Estimated Cost: $130

Description:

We are going back to our 2016 Halloween party digs this year at Long Lake Conservation Center just outside MacGregor, MN. The trip will start on Friday afternoon, Oct 28th until Sunday after lunch (with the option of extending your stay until Monday or Tuesday Oct 31, depending on interest and meeting the minimum required by LLCC). Long Lake Conservation Center (LLCC) is located about 2.5 hours north of the Twin Cities.

Long Lake CC has nice dorm-style rooms with en-suite bathrooms. There are only 3 people per room so everyone can sleep on a bottom bunk. There will also be a limited number of 1 or 2 person rooms, which will be available on a first come, first served basis. Ten spots will be reserved until October 3rd for new Rovers who have joined since December 2022.

As part of your trip, you have the opportunity for a LLCC staff-coordinated activity or two. In addition, daytime Rover-led activities might include hiking, biking (road and trail) and kayaking (weather permitting). On Saturday evening, we will have our always popular Halloween costume party and time for games, pumpkin carving, dancing and whatever else we can think of!!

There is a fireplace in the lodge, They do have an outdoor fire ring as well. Bring your own camp chair and we’ll have a contest to see how many chairs we can get around the fireplace or fire.

Long Lake CC will provide meal options from Friday dinner through Sunday lunch (and possibly Monday and Tuesday, again depending on LLCC set minimums). They can accommodate most diets. Or you can choose to bring your own food.  Estimated trip cost will be as little as $75 or up to $200, depending on which accommodations and meals you select.

This is a popular trip and while most of the registration and payment will be handled through a provided LLCC link, we will need a non-refundable deposit of $15 by Oct 8 to secure your spot. Please send an email to Karen for the address to mail a check for your deposit to or email Melissa if you prefer to pay using Venmo or Paypal. Also, let us know if you are interested in the extended stay opportunity through Oct 31.
