BWCAW Duncan Lake

Tue - SatAug 20 - Aug 242013
  • Estimated Cost: $125
  • Deposit: $25
  • Max Trip Size: 6 people
Description:

Low-key base camp trip, especially for Rovers new to paddling or wilderness camping. New members welcome!

Drive up Tuesday, camp at Flour Lake, enter BWCAW on Wednesday. We plan to set up a base camp on Duncan Lake (entry #60). Day trip options include visit to Stairway Portage and Rose Falls, hiking on Border Route Trail, fishing or just paddling on Duncan, Rose, or Partridge lakes. Partridge is stocked with lake trout.

My goal for the trip is to do some photography, a bit of hiking, try a little fishing, and maybe…just relax.

Trip cost will include BWCAW and camping fees plus shared food and gas expenses. You are responsible for obtaining a fishing permit if you plan to fish.

Please e-mail me if you are interested or have questions. I expect to be at a couple of Rovers meetings prior to the trip to answer questions and for planning, but cannot attend the first Tuesday of any given month due to other obligations.

Estimated cost: $125. Deposit: $25. Max trip size: 6.
