    Spring Birding Walks: If you are interested in birds or just interested in finding out if you might be interested, join one or more of the spring birding walks. The walks are normally on Wednesdays, beginning April 29 with the last scheduled one on Wednesday, May 27. No experience is required, but experienced birders are welcome and encouraged to come and help. We will locate and identify birds, as well as talk about them.

    Bicycling and Camping at Nugget Lake — Nugget Lake County Park, Pierce County, WI

    Summer Trips Bicycling Camping

    Nugget Lake County Park is a gem on the rim of Wisconsin’s driftless area, just over an hour’s drive away. We’ll camp here and bike loops of up to 50 miles on quiet back roads through bluff and coulee country to historic waysides, UFO sites, Lake Pepin, and challenging hills! Wide tires needed to take the (optional) shortcut on a Rustic Road with 4 water crossings. We have reserved campsite #18 and camper cabin #16 close to the shower building. We’ll provide Saturday dinner. $5/day vehicle permit.

    Boundary Waters Canoe Camping/ Fishing Opener — Upper Gunflint Trail , Cook County Minnesota

    Canoeing/ fishing off the upper Gunflint trail of the BWCA. Leave Friday night May 8th after work. Travel one or two portages into the BWCA and camp on a lake to fish for lake trout.     ​MN Rovers and the BRTA have teamed up with Active Source training to offer Red Cross CPR/AED and Basic Wilderness First Aid Certification good for two years. Note that CPR/AED is optional, however, current certification is required for WFA attendance. CPR/AED is not offered separately, it is only offered in conjunction with WFA.

    Ever wondered about the parks in northwest Minnesota? Want to get some more stamps in your State Park Passport? Well, here is your chance to explore the parks of northwestern Minnesota! We will leave the Twin Cities on Wed, May 20th and stay at a park part of the way there. Camp at Lake Bronson (Thursday), Zippel Bay (Friday), and Hayes Lake (Saturday), returning late on Sunday. Lots of hiking and exploring opportunities. Possible biking or paddling, depending on the interests of the group.

    Bicycle Tour the International Selkirk Loop — Sandpoint, Idaho

    A 400 mile and 10 day bicycle tour of the International Selkirk Loop located in the Rocky Mountains http://selkirkloop.org. The ride starts in Sandpoint ID and loops through British Columbia, Washington State then back to Sandpoint ID.
