    Enjoy a winter wonderland at Itasca State Park Hostel. Ski in/ski out and snowshoe on groomed trails - both classic and skate ski. Hike to headwaters of the Mississippi River nearby, take a night walk on beautiful Lake Itasca, enjoy a good book in a comfy chair by the fireplace in the evening or join in games that usually take place in the large dining room.

    Winter Camping in the BWCA — Ely, Mn

    Winter Trips Winter Camping

    Three days of winter camping in the Ely area of the BWCA. Leave the cities on Sat Jan 13 in the morning and return Monday Jan 15th. We will ski/snowshoe about a mile and set up a camp and day trip out of it. One
    of the lakes will visit has a very nice Indian rock art site. Jointly run with the Sierra Club.

    Cross-Country Ski - Chippewa Moraine Area and Blue Hills — New Auburn WI, WI - Wisconsin

    Arriving on Friday at 6:00 pm at Fat Boy’s Pizza in downtown Bloomer, WI (dinner on your own). After dinner, leave for my cabin near New Auburn WI. Saturday, cross-country skiing at the Blue Hills. There is downhill skiing also at the Christie Mountain ski area which is nearby. Sunday –cross-country ski at Hickory Ridge.

    Come to Deep Portage Environmental Learning Center in Hackensack (north of Brainerd) for a pleasant, carefree weekend of winter fun. Activities include skiing (11 miles of groomed trails for traditional cross-country), snowshoeing, ice fishing (you just need your license), climbing wall, stargazing, reading or socializing by the fireplace with a glass of wine, enjoying the outdoor campfire ring.

    Any interest in spending a weekend in a Yurt? If so join us for someweather dependent outdoor activities (maybe paddling?!?) at Cuyuna Country State Recreation Area on March 25-27 (Easter weekend).
    Hiking/skiing/snowshoeing will be at near by Father Hennepin, Mille Lacs Kathio or Crow Wing State Park. Paddling and mountain biking will be atCuyuna Rec Area.

    4th of July Group Camping Weekend — Gooseberry Falls State Park, MN

    Camp at Pebble Creek group camp site (the only group site along the shore of Lake Superior!) at Gooseberry Falls State Park for the Fourth of July Weekend. Group is limited to 30 people, and 5 spots will be held until June 15 for new members who have joined in 2016.
